Another Watch Box Wednesday is upon us! This time in the spotlight, a true icon that has captivated watch enthusiasts since the 1960s. Straight from my personal collection, I present the intriguing Seiko Chariot Disco Volante from 1967. Its unique flying saucer design draws inspiration from the era’s growing fascination with space exploration. With a slim profile and domed acrylic crystal, the 33mm case offers a refined, understated wear. The standout feature of this piece is the hammered bezel, adding a touch of intricate detail to an otherwise sleek and balanced design. The original “nipple” crown is sharp and distinctive. The reflective sunray silver dial, complemented by minimalistic printed indices, proves that simplicity, when done right, speaks volumes. At its core is Seiko’s 21-jewel 6660 mechanical caliber, fully serviced and keeping near-perfect time at -3 seconds per day. This is a rare opportunity to own a pristine Seiko icon, one that’s becoming increasingly hard to find. Comes with a new old stock aftermarket lizard grain black leather strap.

In excellent condition. Light wear consistent with age. Dial has minimal patina with one small ding towards the very edge between 6 and 7. Crystal is clean. Aftermarket strap is new old stock and is good for daily use. See photos for details - they are part of the description. Overall a very nice piece that is ready to wear and enjoy.
